The feeding relationship: an introduction to the possibilities
An appropriate feeding relationship supports children’s developmental tasks at every age and every level of capability and allows children to eat the right amount of the proper food to be healthy and grow well.
Children and weight: Helping without harming
Childhood overweight can be prevented from birth and throughout the growing-years by doing an excellent job with feeding. Health and child care professionals working in primary care settings are in a powerful position to teach parents effective stage-appropriate feeding.
You and your eating
Almost everyone today feels anxious and ambivalent about eating, and the more concerned they are about health, the more anxious they fBeing competent with eating means you take pleasure in it, enjoy a variety of food (not just virtuous food), and trust your body. “Eating well doesn’t have to be a chore,” says Satter in Secrets of Feeding a Healthy Family. “In fact, if the joy goes out of eating, nutrition suffers.”
Health and Weight: The good, the bad and the ugly
Today’s concern about health and weight has focused energy and interest on nutrition. That’s good. Nutritional behaviors may have changed, but eating attitudes and behaviors have worsened. That’s bad. Overweight hysteria promotes interventions that create the very problems they are intended to address. That’s ugly.

The feeding relationship: an introduction to the possibilities in your setting

This workshop is an essential first step for agencies working toward a consistent approach to nutrition education based on feeding dynamics and eating competence principles.
Addressing overweight throughout life
Overweight can be prevented from birth and throughout life by doing an excellent job with feeding and eating. This workshop introduces health professionals working in primary care settings to the power and artistry of working with the eating competence and feeding dynamics models and addressing child and adult overweight.
Children, weight, and the community: helping without harming
This workshop for professionals and the public won’t tell how to get children to eat less, move more, and lose weight. Instead, it gives realistic and rewarding guidance for working together as a community, doing an excellent job of parenting with feeding and with activity, and letting your children grow up to get good bodies that are right for them.
