School-Time Strategies to Support Eating Competence

$25.00

A webinar for professionals by Anne Buffington, MA, RDN, CSSD, CEDRD

When families are adjusting to new school-time routines, it can be challenging for parents and caregivers to manage regular meals and snacks at home while working around busy schedules and extracurricular activities. During this time, the school environment also plays an important role in providing regular opportunities for children and adolescents to get adequate food, and learn to practice important skills related to eating. So what happens when feeding practices and messages about food and nutrition differ between home and the school setting? How do parents support their child when school wellness policies or nutrition education in the classroom seem to interfere with  eating attitudes and behaviors?

During this webinar clinicians will learn how to apply the Satter models in order to provide recommendations and practical strategies for parents to support eating competence while school is in session. Approved for 1.0 Level 1 CEU.
